Today I spent nearly half day in trying to unlock Western Digital HDD . It was password protected from BIOS (some unfortunate guy locked it and forgot). Its unlocked by using MASTER Password available for Western Digital HDD.

On the main menu you should choose up the option “HDD””diagnostic””MHDD v4.6″ and after reaching there you will see a list of hard disk you wish to unlock. Now to unlock it using up the master password of the HDD that you have to find up using the web, just, type Unlock and reply with “1”. Fill up the master. Portable Victoria for Windows 5.36. Master Password used >>> “WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCW”
So full procedure….
1) Booted from Hiren Boot CD -> Mini Windows Xp
2) Started Victoria HDD Test
Hdd Utility Disc
3) Select WD HDD -> PIO -> PRIMARY
4) At Right hand side bottom , enter above master password and click on UNLOCK
5) Then its done.
